“Echoes of Devotion: A Jummah Reflection”
By Hassan A. Hakim
In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful,
In the name of the Assured One, Syedina Mamoon,
Nabi Mustafa, his light shines like the sun at noon,
His name engraved in the Tablet and the Pen,
A leader revered by both women and men.
His sanctified body, pure and fragrant,
In the House and the Haram, ever radiant,
A beacon of guidance in the darkest night,
Intercessor of nations, shining bright.
Protected by Allah, served by Gabriel’s hand,
On Buraq he rides, across the blessed land,
His station at the Lote-Tree, so divine,
Closer to Allah than a bow-length, a sign.
O Allah, shower blessings on Muhammad,
His family too, numbered like grains of sand,
Durood-e-Sharif, a secret now shared,
Recited by Abu-Bakr, through history bared.
Imam Shafi’i found peace in this prayer,
A source of prosperity, health, and care,
A cure for calamities, solace in distress,
Recite it in times of trouble, and you’ll be blessed.
Every moment, let blessings flow,
On Muhammad, his family, let love and peace grow,
May all troubles cease, desires come true,
Through the Prophet’s grace, may blessings renew.
In every instance, in every count,
Peace on the Prophet’s House, let it amount,
His family, his companions, all in our prayer,
Durood Shareef, a gift beyond compare.
O Muhammad, the light of creation’s heart,
The nucleus of being, where all life did start.
Al-Insān al-Kāmil, perfect in every way,
A guide for the lost, through night into day.
Your essence reflects pure light,
A lantern of truth, dispelling the night.
Through trials and tribulations, you stood tall,
Your faith unwavering, a beacon to all.
In Surah Tawbah, Allah’s mercy you bear,
A kindness to all, beyond compare.
Whether they believe or turn away,
Your mercy, like rain, soothes every dismay.
“Why so kind to those who deceive?” the Quran asks,
For your leniency, Lord, beneath every mask.
You pardoned the deflectors with a heart so vast,
Even when their affection for you did not last.
“You grieve for them,” says the Divine decree,
Your love and concern, boundless as the sea.
With every breath, you stood by the weak,
Islam is our beauty, your love we seek.
Syedina Bilal couldn’t bear to be far,
His heart found refuge in your guiding star.
Hazrat Khalid wept for a reunion in the night,
For the Rasoul’s company, his soul took flight.
“Having a single hair of the Nabi is dearer than gold,”
In your love, our hearts forever unfold.
The Sahabah’s actions speak volumes still,
Visiting your grave, their hearts to fulfill.
The Rasoul’s miracles, a testament sublime,
The moon split as a heavenly sign,
A mercy to all, beyond earthly glare,
His birth marked by signs, a promise to share.
Lady Aaminah felt the light within,
As the Rasoul’s birth approached near,
The fire of the Persians dimmed in its din,
A crystal-clear message of monotheism here.
Fourteen fallen balconies foretold,
The end of Persian rule, a story so bold,
The Holy Nabi’s birth, a turning of fate,
Changing history, guiding us to the straight.
In the Assured One’s life and after his death,
His presence a beacon, drawing every breath,
Visiting him with love and faith in our heart,
Guiding us onward, never to part.
The angels and messengers, at your command,
Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman, and Ali stand,
Giants in faith, shaped by your deeds,
The light of Allah plants the seeds.
You split the moon, a simple sign,
Calling the sun to again brightly shine.
Your power, a gift from the heavens above,
A symbol of mercy, a testament of love.
O Syedina Muhammad, the master of all,
On the Day of Resurrection, you’ll stand tall.
With the Banner of Praise, you’ll lead us to light,
The first to rise, honored and bright.
In Surah Ahzab, your virtues displayed,
A journey of faith, from the first to the laid.
Every creature, every being, marvels at your grace,
In your love, we find our rightful place.
Blessed Jummah, hearts filled with devotion,
Eyes weep in prayer, like waves in the ocean.
As praises rise, our spirits ascend,
In supplication, for Allah’s grace to send.
Infinite blessings on the Prophet, our guide,
On his noble wives, companions, and all worldwide.
May we walk in your footsteps, answering the call,
In the name of Allah, the most Gracious of all.
