The people of  the Caribbean region are deeply saddened by news that the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Caribbean Service will end its broadcasts in March. BBC reports that due to a reduction in its Grant-in-Aid funding from the UK's Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) a decision was taken by its World Service to cut its Caribbean service. As a result, the last editions of the BBC Caribbean Report and BBC Caribbean Magazine will broadcast on March 25. Similar closures are planned for its Albanian, Macedonian, Serbian, and Portuguese for Africa broadcasts.

Broome County, New York Cost of War members have been joined by Binghamton Mayor MatthewRyan in efforts to heighten public awareness regarding the excessive amount of local tax money that is being poured into the treasury of the Department of Defense, and into America’s wars.

BINGHAMTON- Broome County, New York Cost of War members have been joined by Binghamton Mayor MatthewRyan in efforts to heighten public awareness regarding the excessive amount of local tax money that is being poured into the treasury of the Department of Defense, and into America’s wars.

Urged on by local residents, Mayor Ryan has decided to take  the initiative of becoming the first mayor in the United States to decorate the main entrance of City Hall with a large, digital “Cost of War” counter, funded entirely by private contributions.

The Gilani family, headed by El Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani, Vice Chancellor of the International Qr’anic Opn University, extends  special thanks to all those who donated for the crystal chandelier now hanging in the new IQOU campus.  

The Vice Chancellor and his family made special dua to Almighty Allah to put light in the hearts of all who gave. As well to put light in all the work that's done in the new campus.

Founder and Chief Editor, El Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani will welcome the correspondents personally, in his encouragement of their efforts to bridge the gap between Americans and Pakistani citizens. The Islamic Post wishes the two every success in their assignment.

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs Task Force on Religion and the Making of U.S. Foreign Policy released its 99-page report on February 23rd, titled, Engaging Religious Communities Abroad: A New Imperative for U.S. Foreign Policy.

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs Task Force on Religion and the Making of U.S. Foreign Policy released its 99-page report on February 23rd, titled, Engaging Religious Communities Abroad: A New Imperative for U.S. Foreign Policy. The task force for the report included input from 32 experts including former government officials, religious leaders, heads of international organizations and scholars; the year-long consultation identifies global religious patterns and strategic challenges for the United States and recommends strategies for foreign policy.

The Alaska chapter of the United Muslim Christian Forum (UMCF) membership has extended its community service mission to become volunteers with the American Red Cross in Anchorage, Alaska. Some members are now attending classes, receiving specific training that will allow them to be of valuable assistance in the community in times of crisis. The course, entitled “Client Casework,” which normally takes 9 hours, was condensed into 3 hours, and will equip them to be at the ready, providing emergency services, when needed.
